Ryan Power - Lead Instructor, Off-Ice Training & Power Skating

Ryan grew up in Norman's Cove - Long Cove and played minor hockey in the Trinity Placentia association in Whitbourne. In Midget he moved on to play AAA in St John's, and from there was drafted into the OHL by the North Bay Centennials. Ryan played in North Bay for two full seasons before moving back east to Halifax where he suited up for the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL for the 97-98 season. Ryan was also a captain during his last year of Junior hockey for the Amherst Ramblers. In 1999 Ryan moved to Charlottetown PEI to play in the AUS conference for the UPEI Panthers, playing 4 full seasons. In 2004 Ryan was selected to participate on the reality TV show, Making the Cut. Throughout Canada over 4000 young hopefuls went thru tryouts, Ryan was selected in the final 63 players to take part in a pro camp in Vernon BC, it was aired on CBC. After Vernon, He signed a Pro Contract in Albuquerque NM, and played the full season in the Central Hockey League between the New Mexico Scorpions and the Oklahoma City Blazers. Ryan finished out his playing career as a senior player for the Summerside Ice Fox, the Deer Lake Redwings, and the Clarenville Caribous where he's collected two championship rings. The Herder Memorial Trophy in 2009 as the NL winner, and the Allan Cup in 2011 as the National winner.

Keith Delaney - Lead Instructor

Keith started out in the OHL where he played with the Barrie Colts. He was playing in the OHL when he has selected by the Florida Panther's in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. Keith has played some high levels of hockey including; OHL, AHL, AUS, and he now plays forward position with the Corner Brook Royals of the CWSHL. Keith worked for four years as Lead Camp Instructor at St. Mary's University. He then left that and spent two years Lead Camp Instructor at Acadia University. While in Nova Scotia, Delaney ran his own Hockey Camp for one year at St. Anne University. Keith will bring the knowledge he has gathered from his high-levelled experiences to the camp.

Rebecca Russell - Lead Instructor

Rebecca grew up in Lethbridge, NL and played minor hockey with the Clarenville Area Minor Hockey Association. During her time in Newfoundland, Rebecca represented the province in numerous national events, including the Canada Winter Games in 1995 as a 12 year old; and again as a 17 year old in 1999. She moved away from Newfoundland at the age of 16 and played the rest of her high school career at Berkshire School in Massachusetts, USA. After high school, Rebecca received an NCAA Division One scholarship to St. Lawrence University in New York, and was a standout player for the Saints during her four-year tenure. She captained the team in her final year and was a finalist for the Patty Kaizmier trophy, awarded annually to the top female hockey player in the NCAA. She still holds numerous scoring records for St. Lawrence University. After university, Rebecca’s career took her to in Calgary, AB, where she played five seasons of professional hockey for the Oval Xtreame. Her playing career also included stints with the Canadian National U-22 Team, and training with the Canadian National Team program. After she retired from playing the game in 2009, Rebecca coached at the University of Calgary for one season. During that year she also started her career as a coach with the Canadian National Team Program. From there, Rebecca’s coaching career took her to Penticton, BC where she started an elite female program at the Okanagan Hockey Academy. Under her guidance and commitment, this program developed into one of the top and well-respected high school programs in North America. Rebecca coached the Canadian National U-22 Team at the Meco Cup held in Germany and won a gold medal at the 2011 World Championships with the Canadian National U-18 Team in Finland. Most recently she was the Head Coach for Team British Columbia for two seasons before moving home in the summer of 2014. Rebecca has coached a number of young athletes who are now part of National Team Programs and the NHL. Rebecca is now Head Coach of the Clarenville Ford Senior Caribous and Technical Director for Clarenville Area Minor Hockey.

Chris Owens - Lead D-Man Instructor

Chris Owens played with the Miramichi Timberwolves in the MJAHL from 2006-2010. Chris enrolled in a Bachelor of Business Program at the Acadia University in 2010. While attending the University, he played various levels of hockey including AUS and CIS All Rookie Teams from 2010-11, AUS First Team All-Star 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14, and All Canadian 2011-12, 2012-13. He was Top Defenseman and First Team All-Star twice, 2008-09 and 2009-10. In 2009-10, he was also league MVP and Top Scorer. He won Gold Medalist Team Canada World University Games in 2013, and he won the Paul McFarland Award for his volunteer work with minor hockey at Wolfville. He also worked with kids at a program called Kinder Sport at Acadia. Chris graduated with a Business Degree in May 2014. He has instructed D-Man camps before joining us at Atlantic Ice Warriors, and he hopes that he will be with us for a number of years.

Todd Bengert - Lead Goalie Instructor

Todd Bengert is the director and head instructor for Upper Echelon Goaltending. He has an extensive background playing hockey and has played goal in both ice and in-line hockey for many years at a competitive level in both Canada and Asia. He constantly tries to hone his own game in senior leagues throughout the Halifax, following the creedo to "practice what he preaches". Coach Bengert has coached as a head and assistant coach for both minor and senior hockey teams since 1992. He works extensively through the Maritimes in many aspects of goalie development. He also continues to advise and work with more than 40 teams across the city from Novice to High School in addition to working with other professional goalie coaching programs throughout Canada and the US. Every year, Coach Bengert spends over 1500 hours on the ice working with more than 300 goalies. He is currently certified as a Future Pro Instructor.
